Pori Pakoda

Ingredients

  • 1 cup puffed rice
  • 1/4 cup besan flour
  • 1/8 cup rice flour
  • 1/2 cup onion finely chopped
  • 1 no green chilli finely chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon ginger
  • 1 tablespoon curry leaves finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoon coriander leaves finely chopped
  • 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon red chilli powder
  • salt to taste
  • water as needed

Instructions

  • First add all the ingredients except oil, water to a mixing bowl.
  • Mix it well. Then add water little by little to form a stiff dough. You can add a teaspoon of hot oil for extra crispness too.
  • Heat oil in a kadai - pinch small portions and drop into hot oil. Deep fry in medium flame util golden brown and crisp. Repeat to finish.
  • Finally fry curry leaves and garnish. Crispy pori pakoda ready!

  • Adding hot oil ensure extra crispness so if you prefer add it.
  • Pori by itself when deep fried gives a crisp and crunch texture so perfect for making pakoda.
