Ingredients

  • 1 and ½ cups boiled milk
  • 1 teaspoon tea powder
  • ½ teaspoon coco powder
  • 2 teaspoon sugar
  • a small piece cinnamon

Instructions

  • I used boiled milk, if you are fresh milk boil for a while and then proceed.
  • Add tea powder and sugar.
  • Then add cinnamon, add coco powder.
  • Whisk it well.
  • Simmer and let it come to a rolling boil.
  • Once it comes to a rolling boil and is frothy switch off.
  • Strain using a metal strainer. Your chocolate tea is ready.
  • Serve Chocolate Tea hot!

Notes

  • Let it brew strong – This is an important step. Boil the tea powder in milk first, and then add the other ingredients.
  • Whisk the Cocoa – It's better to whisk the cocoa powder in warm milk before adding to the tea. Cocoa powder might lump off if it is not whisked properly.
  • Use full-fat milk – For a creamy, café style chocolate tea, full-cream milk is your best partner. It adds a velvety look to the tea.
  • Boil it once – After adding cocoa powder, boil the tea only once. A gentle simmer will also do. This is to avoid splitting the milk.
  • Strain the tea – Even after whisking well, it is important to strain it before serving. It gives that smooth, professional touch.
  • Add a pinch of salt – adding a pinch of salt may elevate the flavors of cocoa. Don’t overdo the salt.
