Ingredients

  • 2 medium sized tomatoes roughly chopped
  • 1 small sized onion
  • 1 garlic cloves chopped roughly
  • 1/3 cup coriander leaves loosely packed
  • 1 long green chili sliced
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper powder
  • salt to taste
  • 1/2 lemon

Instructions

  • To a mixer jar add 1 small sized onion, 2 medium sized tomatoes roughly chopped, 1/3 cup coriander leaves(loosely packed), 1 long green chili(sliced), 1 garlic cloves(chopped roughly), 1/2 teaspoon cumin powder, 1/4 teaspoon pepper powder, salt to taste.
  • Add juice from 1/2 lemon.
  • All ready to pulse. If you have a food processor use it else you can use your mixer itself.
  • Pulse it few times to make it chunky and not too mushy.
  • This is perfect. Chill it for one hour at least before serving!
  • Homemade Salsa is ready!

Notes

  • Make sure to roughly chop onion, tomato and garlic.
  • Use your food processor or mixer pulse option to make salsa. Do not puree it you need to have it chunky only then the texture will be good.
  • You can even add 3/4 teaspoon red chili powder and skip green chilies.
  • Adding fresh ingredients enhances the taste so do not miss it.
  • Let the salsa chill before serving.
  • The color of the salsa purely depends on the tomato variety used.
