Chapathi Upma

Chapathi Upma is a tasty, savoury tiffin made by sautéing chapathi bits with veggies & spices. Chapathi Upma is a nice leftover idea for breakfast or dinner and relished wholesome or with gravy. Chapathi Upma is a surprise treat for family & could be made in minutes.

Ingredients

  • 3 nos chapathi

To temper:

  • 1/2 teaspoon mustard seeds
  • 1/2 teaspoon urad dal
  • few curry leaves
  • 1 no green chilli
  • 1 small carrot grated
  • 1/4 cup onion finely chopped

Instructions

  • Take leftover chapathis, tear them roughly.
  • Transfer to mixer jar and pulse it few times until you get a mixture like flakes. Transfer to a bowl and set aside.
  • Heat oil in a pan - add the items listed under 'to temper'. Let it splutter. Add chopped onion.
  • Sauté till it shrinks then add grated carrot sauté till raw smell leaves, add required salt.
  • Saute for 2 mins then add chapathi flakes, toss it well. Serve Chapathi Upma hot!
