Broken Corn Payasam is a tasty, crumbly dessert made by simmering roasted broken corn, sugar & nuts in milk. Broken Corn Payasam is an alternate kheer to try at home for religious festivals and for the joy of exploring different taste.

Ingredients

Instructions

  • Heat ghee in a pan roast cashews until golden, set aside.
  • Roast corn rava for 2 mins.
  • Then add 1/2 cup water and 1/2 cup milk.
  • Cook until it is soft but not too mushy you should still able to feel the texture, that is the right stage.
  • Add sugar. It will turn gooey.
  • Add remaining milk and let it boil for 4 mins in low flame. Then add cardamom powder and condensed milk.
  • Cook until its slightly and creamy.
  • Add ghee fried cashews, mix well and switch off.
  • Serve Broken Corn Payasam warm or chilled!

Notes

  • This payasam thickens with time so switch off when its a little runny.
  • I used fine rava so it gets cooked easily.
  • Roast rava just for few mins, don’t let it change the color.
