Pasta Casserole

Pasta Casserole is a cheesy, gooey dish made by sautéing corn, veggies in tomato based spiced saucy mix, blending it with pasta, cheese, oregano and baking it. Pasta Casserole is an anytime meal & an add-on dish for grand meal during special occasions. Pasta Casserole is worth the effort& time with its taste.

Ingredients

  • 1 and 1/2 cups pasta I used bowtie pasta
  • 1 tablespoon garlic crushed
  • 1/4 cup onion chopped
  • 1/2 cup capsicum chopped - I used color capsicum
  • 1/2 cup boiled corn
  • 1 tablespoon pasta sauce
  • 1/2 cup white sauce
  • 1/4 cup cheese
  • 1 teaspoon oregano
  • 1 teaspoon chilli flakes

Instructions

  • Boil water, add pasta and cook until soft yet firm enough to bite into so not too mushy, it should hold its shape. Strain water and set aside.
  • Heat oil in a pan - add crushed garlic, onion, sauté until onions turn transparent.
  • Then add capsicum. Sauté for 2 mins then add boiled corn and toss it well.
  • Add pasta sauce. Sauté for a minute.
  • Add 1/2 cup water and let it boil for 2 mins. When the mixture turns saucy and thick add cooked pasta. Toss well.
  • Add white sauce mix it and switch off. In a baking dish add the pasta.
  • Preheat oven at 200 deg C.
  • Spread white sauce, then sprinkle cheese, oregano and chilli flakes.
  • Bake in preheated oven for 20-25 mins or until the cheese melts and is slightly golden. Enjoy Pasta Casserole!

Notes

  • You can include veggies or your choice or use chicken too.
  • If you want plus or minus the ingredients of your choice. Don't like white sauce just skip and go ahead.
