Ingredients

  • 1 and 1/2 cups phool makhana / lotus seeds
  • 2 tablespoon almonds chopped
  • 1 tablespoon cashews chopped
  • 1 tablespoon raisins
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon jeera powder roasted
  • 1 teaspoon sugar powdered - optional
  • 3 teaspoon salt to taste

Instructions

  • Get ready with all your ingredients. Heat 1 teaspoon ghee a pan – add the makhana and start roasting it. Roast it in low flame.
  • Roast if you want to verify if its done, just pop one or 2 in your mouth it should be crispy then its done else roast for some more time. Transfer to a mixing bowl and set aside.
  • Heat remaining 2 teaspoon ghee in a pan - add cashews roast until golden, transfer to mixing bowl.
  • Add almonds roast till golden, transfer to mixing bowl.
  • Finally add raisins let it plump then roast until slightly golden, transfer to mixing bowl.
  • Add powdered sugar, required salt, pepper and jeera powder. Toss it well.
  • Store in airtight container and serve Phool Makhana Namkeen with tea!

Notes

  • Though powdered sugar is optional, I strongly recommend adding it.
  • You can even add a pinch of chat masala powder.
