Ingredients

  • vegetables
  • dal
  • water as needed

Instructions

  • Rinse the vegetable / dal well. Peel the skin from the vegetables.
  • Add water and pressure cook for 3-4 whistles.Y ou can open cook in a vessel too.Add salt if you are adding.
  • Once pressure releases, let it cool down a bit, then use a spoon to mash it up well or use a blender,I prefer blender as its easy. You can even use a mixie.
  • Use a strainer and filter the water alone. Press it nicely with a spoon so that the juice is extracted completely. Discard the pulp. If you are feeding for babies over 8 months then you can feed it with the pulp.

Notes

  • When you first start, start with liquid foods like vegetable filtered soups that helps in easy digestion. You can then move gradually to purees within a week or so.
  • If its not hot, do not heat up the soup directly. Keep it inside boiling water to heat it up.
  • If you are introducing any new food, always consult your doctor before starting.
  • Always give at least 2-3 days before you start with the next new food.
  • You can even replace toor dal with moong dal. If using moong dal roast till nice aroma comes then proceed.
  • The mix of vegetables is purely your choice.
  • You can even use a combination of dals for dal soup. You can use masoor dal too.
  • Rinse the dal and veggies  well before pressure cooking.
  • You can even replace toor dal with mung dal. If using roast till nice aroma comes then proceed.
  • You can even add a small garlic clove while pressure cooking for soup which will aid in digestion.
