Honey Nut Granola

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup cornflakes
  • 1 tablespoon raisins

To be baked:

  • 2 cups rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup cornflakes
  • 1/4 cup almonds
  • 1/4 cup cashews
  • 1/4 cup dried apricots
  • 1 tablespoon dried figs
  • 2 tablespoon brown/ cane sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla essence
  • 1/2 teaspoon cooking oil
  • a tiny pinch salt

Instructions

  • To a mixing bowl add all the ingredients under the list 'to be baked'. Mix well. The mixture will be slightly went and moist.
  • Preheat oven at 165 deg C for 10 mins.
  • To a baking tray drizzle oil, spread it using a brush. Transfer the mixture to the tray.
  • Bake in preheated oven for 15-20 mins.
  • After 10 mins give a quick mix. Bake until  golden brown. Remove from oven.
  • Add raisins then crush and add cornflakes when its still hot. Mix well. Cool  down completely then store in airtight container. While serving add granola along with chilled or warm milk and serve!

Notes

  • I tried adding raisins while baking but sometimes it gets burnt easily so these days add it finally.
  • Cornflakes can be skipped but we love it with that.
