Masala milk powder recipe

Masala milk powder recipe a homemade mix of roasted nuts with spices, can be had with milk.

  • 1/4 cup almonds
  • 1/4 cup pistachios
  • 1/8 cup cashewnuts
  • 1/2 tsp pepper corns
  • 3 nos whole cardamom
  • 1 no clove
  • 1/4 inch cinnamon
  • a tiny pinch nutmeg grated
  • a fat pinch saffron

To make masala milk:

  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 tsp sugar
  • 2 heaped tsp masala milk mix


  • To a  fry pan - add all the 3 nuts, dry roast for 5 mins in low flame.Do not over roast it might let out oil while grinding.Transfer to a plate and set aside.Now add cardamom,clove and cinnamon dry roast for a minute transfer to a plate and set aside.
  • Add pepper corns saute for a minute, transfer to a plate and set aside.Finally add saffron dry roast until crisp, transfer to a plate and set aside.Cool down completely.
  • Transfer this to a  clean dry mixture jar and grind it a semi fine powder.Finally grate a pinch of nutemeg and mix well.
  • Do not try to fine powder it, the mixture will turn sticky.The mixture will be slightly coarse only.Now to make masala milk add sugar to boiled milk mix well.Strain it.
  • Transfer to serving glass, add nuts powder 2 tsp will be good but adjust it according to your preference.
  • Serve hot! You can even have it chilled like badam milk.


  • Store in a clean dry jar.
  • Use clean dry spoon every time.
  • This keeps well for about a month in room temperature itself but make sure to use a dry spoon.
  • Do not grind more as the nuts will let out oil and the mixture will turn sticky.
