Idli Noodles

Idli Noodles is an excellent way to use uo leftover idlis. Idlis are cut into thin strips and tossed in a noodle based sauce along with stir fried vegetables. Idli Noodles Recipe with step by step pictures and video.

Ingredients

  • 4 nos idlis
  • 1/4 cup onion chopped lengthwise
  • 1/4 cup carrot chopped lengthwise
  • 1/3 cup cabbage chopped lengthwise
  • 1/4 cup capsicum chopped lengthwise
  • 3 nos garlic cloves
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper powder
  • 1/8 teaspoon soya sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon red chilli sauce
  • salt to taste
  • 1 tablespoon oil

Instructions

  • I used cloth idlis, you can use normal idlis too.But make sure to refrigerate it atleast for an hour.
  • Cut vertically then cut across again to make thin strips.If they are too long they will tend to break to cut into half as shown in the pic.
  • Heat oil in a pan - add crushed garlic saute till golden.Then add onion along with salt saute till transparent.
  • Now add carrot cabbage and saute till it shrinks a bit then add capsicum and saute for few mins.Then add red chilli sauce,soya sauce and pepper powder.
  • In high flame saute fro a minute,lower the flame then add cut the idlis.Toss well and mix it.
  • Serve Idli noodles hot with ketchup!

Notes

  • Idlis should be firm else it will break while cooking.
  • Adjust spice level according to your preference.This is mildly spiced.
