Nungu Popsicle | Nungu Ice

Nungu Popsicle is a natural chilled dessert bar made by simmering milk with chopped nungu and freezing it. Nungu Popsicle fulfils the ice craving in a healthy way and a surprise treat for the family in summer holidays.

Ingredients

  • 6 medium sized nungu / ice apple
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup condensed milk
  • 1 tablespoon honey / any flavoured syrup

Instructions

  • Take milk in a sauce pan, boil it then simmer for 3-5mins.
  • Peel off the skin from nungu and chop it very finely. Set aside.
  • In a mixing bowl - take milk, add condensed milk and honey.
  • Mix well with a spoon. Now add chopped nungu. Mix with spoon.
  • Nungu should be more if it is less then it will go and settle at the bottom.
  • Take your favorite popsicle mould. Spoon the mixture into the mould.
  • Close with lid and freeze for at least 6-8 hrs.
  • Then rinse the mould under running tap water, pull out gently. Enjoy nungu popsicles!

Notes

  • I have made it plain. You can add any flavour of your choice - vanilla, rose, pista or nannari or any of your favorite flavour.
  • I used homemade condensed milk.
