Add 1 cup water to a sauce pan along with 1 cup sugar and let it to boil. I am making in bulk to store this simple syrup in fridge.
Mix it well until sugar dissolves completely.
Boil for 3-5 minutes and switch off. No consistency needs to be checked.
Strain to remove impurities if any.
Measure 1/4 cup sugar syrup and set it aside.
Slice the lemon and keep it ready.
Slit a green chili in the center and set it aside. Do not cut into 2 pieces, it should have a slit that is enough.
Add 1/2 teaspoon basil seeds to a bowl add 1/3 cup water to it.
Set aside until it blooms, takes just 5-7 minutes to bloom. Set this aside.
Get all your ingredients ready. You need a shaker with lid.
