Mango Jelly

Mango Jelly is a yummy fluffy dessert made by firming up mango puree using china grass / agar agar & chilling it. Mango Jelly at home is an ideal snack & dessert to fulfil the snacks craving of kids during holidays. Mango Jelly is healthy compared to the packed foods.

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup water
  • 1 small sized mango (1/2 cup mango puree)
  • 3 gms agar agar
  • 3 tablespoon sugar

Instructions

  • Cut agar agar into small strips in case if its a big sheet like. Measure and take agar agar in a sauce pan, add water to it.
  • Heat it up. Keep stirring and cook in low flame.
  • Cook until it is completely dissolved and the water is clear without any strips. Switch off.
  • Add mango puree to it. Whisk it well for even mixing.
  • Now take your mould or any cake tin and pour mango mixture into it. Let it set, refrigerate for 15mins.
  • When you touch it should not stick that shows it has set well. Cut and serve. You can even use any silicon cake moulds.

Notes

  • To quicken the process you can soak agar agar in water for 10mins then start cooking.
  • Keep stirring till agar agar dissolves completely. It may take about 5-7mins.
  • Store in a clean container and refrigerate until serving time. Keeps well atleast for 3-4 days in fridge.
  • Refrigerate it as when we keep in room temperature it will let out water.
  • I used alphonso mangoes.
