Garlic Milk Porridge

Garlic Milk Porridge is a soothing, flavourful meal made by cooking rice with milk, garlic & jeera. Garlic Milk Porridge is comfort diet meal during post pregnancy & at the time of sick. Garlic Milk Porridge is relished wholesome or with onions, chutney or gravy.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup rice
  • 2 cup water
  • 1/2 cup + 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup coconut milk first thick milk
  • 10 nos garlic cloves
  • 1/4 teaspoon fenugreek seeds
  • 1/2 teaspoon jeera
  • salt to taste

Instructions

  • Rinse rice well. Add it to pressure cooker. Add garlic, fenugreek seeds.
  • Then add required salt. Add water and milk.
  • Add jeera. Pressure cook in medium flame for 6-8 whistles.
  • Let the pressure release by itself. Once pressure releases open,.
  • Mash it up well with a ladle. Add remaining 1/2 cup milk. Mix well.
  • Add coconut milk.
  • Add more milk if required to make it to porridge consistency.
  • Serve Garlic Milk Porridge hot / warm.

Notes

  • Add more water if required. The given ratio is 1 (rice) : 4 (water + milk) cups.
  • It gets thick with time so switch off accordingly.
