Thenga Chammanthi is a tasty, spiced side dish made by blending coconut, tamarind, ginger, small onion & herbs into a thick, coarse chutney form. Thenga Chammanthi is popular in Kerala - relished with rice meal and could be made in minutes.

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup coconut
  • 4 nos small onion
  • a small sprig curry leaves
  • 3 small red chillies
  • 1/2 teaspoon tamarind
  • a tiny piece ginger
  • salt to taste

Instructions

  • Get ready with your ingredients. Transfer all the ingredients to the mixer jar. Grind it coarse.
  • Sprinkle little water and grind again to a coarse mixture more like a thick chutney.

Notes

  • This is a little spicy so adjust red chillies according to your taste.
