Vanilla kesari recipe with video and stepwise pictures.The idea of vanilla kesari came from mittu when I was thinking of recipes to make using the homemade vanilla sugar and I was like wow thats a cool idea.So made up my mind to try it out immediately before I forget.I tried it last week and it was a treat as the mild vanilla flavour goes very well with kesari.

Vanilla kesari recipe a mild vanilla flavored rava kesari with video and step by step pictures

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup fine sooji
  • 1/2 cup vanilla sugar
  • 3 tbsp ghee
  • 1 tbsp cashews broken
  • 1 and 1/4 cups water
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla essence

Instructions

  • Heat 1 tbsp ghee in a pan - add cashews fry until golden, remove and set aside.
  • Add sooji to the same pan fry until aromatic(low flame) for 3 mins.Remove nand set aside.
  • Heat water in a pan let it boil simmer then add sroasted sooji in a sprinkled manner.
  • Keep stirring to avoid lumps.Once its cooked and becomes thick add vanilla sugar and vanilla essence.
  • mix well, the moisture will become goey.Add remaining ghee little by little, mix well until a mass comes together without sticking much.
  • Cook covered for 2 mins, mix well add fried cashews give a quick mix and switch off.

Notes

Do not add sugar before sooji gets cooked.

  7. Serve hot or warm!
