I was really excited to see an invite from Radisson Blu, Coimbatore to taste their special menu cooked by a team of expert chefs .Radisson blu needs no introduction as I’ve already visited the place and enjoyed their food at The Great Kabab Factory.
Me along with PJ and Jino visited Radisson Blu’s Seasons all day dining restaurant for tasting chef’s signature dishes which they are going to introduce in their special menu soon. The hospitality needs a special mention and the food served is awesome.
This is the entrance to the restaurant which has a small pastry shop. The lunch buffet was about to start so the arrangements were being made when we entered.
The ambiance is so good with well lit natural lighting. There is a small seating besides the pool side.
First we were given the menu card then introduced to the chef team.We also had an interaction with executive chef, Indirajith Singh about the dishes, how they chose the menu, preparation of it etc.Special thanks to Mr. Madhusoodhanan (Director- Food & Beverage) for coordinating and hosting us.
Apart from the al-carte and buffet meal, a special menu includes signature recipes styled by the team of chefs.
Most of the dishes on the menu were so new to me and tasted unique too.Right from soups to desserts the menu was exclusively designed. The menu includes a mix of cuisines as they had exclusively planned that way.
Now comes the best part food tasting time 🙂
First came a soup Burmese Khow seuy – the soup was served inside a bowl shaped bun, the mild flavour of coconut milk was the highlight of the soup. The soup was served with 7 toppings and the crispy garlic fries is my favorite 🙂 The soup was a meal by itself that we were already full after tasting it.
Next came another soup Asparagus cappucino – A creamy soup which to me tasted more like the cream of mushroom soup.We were quite surprised to know that the froth on the top was from egg white.
Lebanese Mezze – I loved pita bread, hummus and falafel combo. The brinjal dip was good too.
Appetisers : Crackling potatoesÂ
Shredded lamb with peppers – This when tasted didn’t even make me feel like having lamb it was soft and juicy.
Pichu pota kozhi – This is my favorite which had the perfect native touch with the chefs mild twist to it.
Main course: Matka Paan biryani with raita,Naan,Paneer Gulnar,Murg Wajid Ali and Lamb Chops
Wine dining is a part of these signature dishes.I haven’t tasted wine but if you like to taste then they have different options for it.
Chef special Pomfret by Master Chef Bhaskar
Paneer gulnar by Executive Sous Chef Negi – Rich paneer gravy with khoya stuffing.
The matka paan biriyani needs a special applaud as the rice was perfectly cooked with grains separated and the mild flavour of betel leaves was complimenting with saffron flavour, this is sure going to be a huge hit.
And finally the dessert was Baklava by bakery Chef Kannan. The phyllo sheets were made inhouse and it was so crispy and yum.It was loaded with nuts packed between layers of the phyllo(pastry) sheets.
Overall we had a great time tasting the menu and we thoroughly enjoyed the experience.Thank you Radisson group for hosting us!
