    Quinoa Porridge is a healthy, quick baby food made by cooking quinoa and blending it with milk & jaggery syrup.  Quinoa Porridge is good for 8+ months babies and keeps them filling too.

    Quinoa is rich in  fiber and protein, pronounced as ‘keen-wah’ it is one of the super foods.Quinoa is gluten free seed and not a grain though it look like a grain.

    Quinoa Porridge

    Quinoa Porridge is a healthy, quick baby food made by cooking quinoa and blending it with milk & jaggery syrup.  Quinoa Porridge is good for 8+ months babies and keeps them filling too.

    Ingredients

    • 1/4 cup quinoa
    • 1 cup water
    • 2 tsp jaggery syrup
    • 2 to 3 tbsp milk*

    *You can use breast milk or formula milk

      Instructions

      • Take quinoa in a bowl rinse it at least 2 to 3 times. Drain and set aside.
      • Take drained quinoa in a sauce pan and add water, let it to boil. Once it starts to boil keep the flame to lowest and cook covered for 10-12 mins.
      • Quinoa should be cooked soft and mushy. Switch off. It should not be dry so add water accordingly.
      • Now using a masher mash it up.
      • Add milk, jaggery syrup. Mix well with a spoon. Serve immediately.

      Notes

      • You can start quinoa for babies from 8 months.
      • You can use any sweetener of your choice. I used jaggery syrup.
      • Adjust consistency as per your liking.
      • You can even grind it to a smooth paste and feed. Slowly change the texture as they grow up.
