Mugs & Brews, a place where you can spend your time with peace of mind ,awesome music and you can taste the real authentic Pizza, Burger, Sandwich, Crispos and Coffee with your loved ones.Though the name is associated with coffee it is a fusion restaurant cum cafe shop.
I was called for a taste checking event at Mugs and Brews on the previous day of their opening ceremony.Actually PJ and me were called but unfortunately she couldn’t join that day.So I alone went and when I visited the cafe shop, after tasting their food itself,I decided that I should have a separate post here as the food was so unique and delicious.I spent a great evening there taste checking the dishes…it was completely a different experience!!
It was dark already and I didn’t even take my DSLR with me as I was not planned, just clicked few pictures with my mobile for sharing in IG.But I wanted to justify the dishes served with my pics so asked if I could join PJ later for photo session and they insisted that they wanted us just to taste and share the feedback and didn’t expect anything else from us.And yes it was an open invite for us to join anytime 🙂
2 weeks back me and PJ fixed an appointment with them and went together and should say we had a great time tasting the dishes and was awed hearing their experiences in so keenly choosing their ingredients.
The common passion for food has united them to start this initiative çalled Mugs and Brews. All the dishes we tasted had some form of uniqueness and we were dumbstuck when we were told about the each dish in detail..food innovation at its peak through fusion.
The ambience look is warm….it is brown everywhere and now u know why I loved it 🙂 There is a cosy corner for kids to play indoor games and a work area for browsing too.And how can I leave without mentioning about those serving dishes the coffee mugs, plates and everything was so cute that we kept admiring them..food bloggers eyes you see 😉
There is also sit-out with lawn and swings. They are also planning to extend soon to accommodate more guests.
The lemonade varieties are one of their specialities. We were served 4 different flavours of lemonades : Saffron Basil, Beets,Spinach and Coffee.Personally I loved coffee and saffron flavour so much.We were surprised to know that that these lemonades are prepared fresh and now seeing the demand for it, they have started to prepare on a daily basis. The flavours keep changing too, I tasted carrot ginger flavour in my earlier visit.
The taste uniqueness in each dish is what amazed us.Their presentation is top notch and so tempting that anyone could easily want to grab the plate immediately.
The Spanish omlette had layers of egg and potato with a carrot and milk mayo topping…It tasted so yum. There were more options for non vegetarians but then the menu is totally customizable means if you like a dish in nonveg menu and want it they will make a vegetarian version of it and the vegetable choice is your preference. How nice!?
I couldn’t stand a sip of the black coffee as its was bitter but black coffee is meant to be like that but am used to have coffee with milk and sugar 🙂 But surprisingly PJ loved it.And that lemon tart was damn delicious which goes well with the black coffee.
This is our regular A Apple B Beetroot C Carrot juice but they had presented it so well with layers and it was so tempting to see the blend of colours.
Doffle Chicken – Dosa + Waffle and its Doffle 🙂 These doffles are crisp at the edges and has a soft inside. The chicken sauce is with almonds and pineapple which is a mixture of sweet sour and spice taste.
And there were so many coffee varieties which is their speciality. Those cookies were made in-house and they tasted so delicious, it was such amaze melt in the mouth cookie surely one of the best I have tasted in the recent days.
This is one of my favourites – Chicken and Veg burger.Actually they don’t use bun for burger they make a japanese pancake named dorayaki which is made fresh and assembled with a pan fried patty yes the patty is not deep fried.I loved the chicken burger the best as the patty was spicy which went well with a mild sweetish pancake, though the veg version was kind of too sweet for my tastebuds. The veg burger had milk mayo and the chicken burger had beets mayo in it.And those potato wedges were so tasty and sure will be a hit with kids.
These rolls are newly introduced and are just like frankie rolls but the filling taste was different.
And should I have to tell about this chocolate smoothie, the look of it kids will sure love it! And we both shared and enjoyed as the portion was quite big.
Veg Phil Phil with mushrooms and baby corn.I tasted the same one with prawns last time we visited and that was also good.
I should mention about the pain they had taken for choosing the best ingredients for using in each dish right from the coffee bean, chocolates etc.
If you want to explore food with fusion then this is the right place for you and your family to hangout.I have already started to hear good reviews about this place and so wishing the team a very good luck !! I am sure to visit soon with my family 🙂
