Moth Bean Sundal
Ingredients
- 1/3 cup moth bean
- 2 tbsp coconut
- water as needed
- salt to taste
To temper:
- 1/2 tsp mustard seeds
- 1/4 tsp urad dal
- a pinch hing
- 1 no red chilli
- few nos curry leaves
Instructions
- Rinse moth bean until water is clear, drain and add it to a pan along with water and required salt. Add water only till immersing level.
- Mash to check, should not be mushy at the same time when you press it should be soft. Set aside, do not strain water.
- To a pan - heat oil add the items listed under 'to temper' let it splutter.
- Sauté till dal turn golden then add cooked bean along with water. Sauté for a minute.
- Let the water absorb, add required salt. Mix well then add coconut give a quick sauté and switch off. Enjoy Moth Bean Sundal!
