Instant bajra porridge recipe a quick and healthy breakfast.Easy kambu kanji  with step by step pictures and video.

I have already tried making homemade bajra flour.You can buy bajra flour from supermarkets or make your batch of bajra flour and use it for such recipes.This porridge is so filling and tasty too.

Have always wondered why I hated all these kanji,koozh,kali during my childhood which I love so much now.:)

Instant bajra sweet porridge recipe

Instant bajra sweet porridge recipe a quick breakfast for a busy day, keeps you full till lunch time.

Ingredients

  • 1/8 cup bajra flour
  • 1 cup water
  • a pinch cardamom powder
  • 2 tbsp palm jaggery
  • 2 tbsp water

Instructions

  • To a vessel add bajra powder and water.Whisk well so that there are no lumps now keep on stove and switch on.Keep stirring without leaving to avoid lumps.
  • Meanwhile prepare the syrup:add palm jaggery and water.Mix well let it melt completely,no need to check for any consistency,Set aside to cool. Keep stirring until it becomes thick and shiny.It will take around 5-7 mins to reach this consistency.
  • At one stage it will coat the laddle, turn shiny and thick.At this stage strain and add the syrup.Mix well then add cardamom powder.
  • Mix well.Now add milk and whisk well, if you prefer to make it a bit runny then add little water.
  • Serve hot or warm.
