The property is amidst coconut groove and has a pond and that’s why they have named the resort Coco Lagoon!

Restaurant Review:

I was so glad when I had an invite from Coco Lagoon for review.I was also surprised as Coco Lagoon needs no introduction as they are one of the popular resorts here so it was a great pleasure for me and my family to get invited for this review.I have a very sentimental attachment to this place.5 yrs back in 2015, it was summer holidays for mittu, all her friends went for vacation, and she was nagging us too.I was hesitant to travel anywhere long as I was 5 months carrying gugu in me and that’s when hubby browsed and chose this place. Its just an hr drive from Coimbatore. The moment we reached here, I was lazying around and I felt the first kick of gugu❤️!! Now when I see gugu running around today all these beautiful memories flashed up.

I was awed by the ambiance when we reached here, I felt so comfortable with the room and ambience. The first time we visited this place was in 2015 and am surprised to see now as they have maintained the property so well and food needs a special mention as the standard has surely gone to a higher level. The service as usual is great!

Its just an hr drive from Coimbatore so we will not mind to visit the property again just for lunch or dinner!

This is the pool view from the restaurant.Looks so stunning!

The exteriors outside have a great look with beautiful wooden carved chairs, tables and swings. The restaurant is situated in the center so that its easy to access by all room guests.

There is a small amphitheater(1st tile).Other tiled pics shows the room view from outside. You can see the small boat in the pond(3rd tile).

The reception area is  simple and elegant.

This is how a individual room looks from outside. We stayed in Royal Suite and this is our outside room view.

The room categories are : You can check the tariff details in the website

  • Executive Deluxe
  • Royal Suite
  • Presidential Suite
  • Garden Villa
  • Pool Villa

Royal Suite Room View Inside

Each room has different view, the pics shown here are all from Royal Suite room.Ours was overlooking pond, swimming pool and lawn.

The holiday activity area needs a special mention. You will surely not get bored roaming around the property but still they have this additional holiday activity area focusing the kids. There are few quite a handful of outdoor and indoor games.I was really happy to get assisted with Billiards/Snooker, a game I wanted to try my hands for a long time 🙂 Kids had a lovely time too.

There is a spa named Vaidya Sutras to experience ultimate bliss.

The resort is well maintained, staffs are courteous and has good activity options! The resort also arranges for visits for customized experience such as weaving, boating, palm sugar making etc.

Restaurant Review:

The dining experience at Palm(the in house restaurant) is all about delighting the senses. The in-house multi-cuisine restaurant offers  lip-smacking authentic dishes. Our first time experience in 2015 with food here was near to disaster and we had to dine outside. But to our surprise now food was really tasty & spread was also good. The Chef and the restaurant manager took time with us to explain different dishes.

I felt the the food cost a bit expensive, but the taste and location sure justifies it!There is both Alcarte and Buffet but that purely depends on the crowd in the resort as mentioned by the team.

Lunch and Dinner buffet costs 750/(inclusive tax) for adults and 375/(inclusive tax) for kids(6 to 12 years) and breakfast buffet is complementary for the stay.

From left to right : Vazhaipoo fry,Bread Bast Basket with PB Masala, Fryums,Pallipalayam Chicken, Fish Fry and my plate 🙂 The food was soo tasty and I loved Pallipalayam chicken that I couldn’t resist myself from taking second serving.

Pretty pasta,Corn Nuggets,Chettinad Mutton Milagu Kuzhambu,Poori Masala, the main Chef 🙂 and Kal Dosai

This is their signature dessert ‘Elaneer Payasam’ it was mild and has perfect balance of everything , we loved it!

And my favorite Bread Toast with Omlette from the Breakfast buffet.

Egg Biryani with Raita and Salna

Fish fingers was so tasty that even mittu who is not fond of fish loved it.What I loved the most is that the binding agents were not dominating and fish flavor was too good.

The South Indian chicken curry was so good that I loved it both with idli and poori.Pancakes and idli could have been a bit more softer, not really worried about pancakes but Idli being our South indian staple that was my major concern, am sure they will address to it sooner.

My breakfast buffet plate

Gugu had asked for fruits(without my knowledge) and they brought this assorted fruits plate just for him, such a sweet gesture. And he happily had few of these, an egg and finished his lunch 🙂

Paneer 65

Pallipalayam Chicken – this was and will be my most favorite dish here 🙂

Poori with Masala and Chicken Curry

All time favorite curd rice with pickle

I loved everything about the resort the ambiance, food, the activities etc.Regarding food, the menu has mixed cuisines and the taste is great too also it depends on the dish you select.

Thank you Coco Lagoon for hosting us.We are still as excited as we were here the first time! See you again in the near future !!
