Chapathi upma recipe, Easy leftover chapati upma recipe

Chapathi upma recipe can be easily made with leftover roti.We usually have few leftover roti or chapathi so that can be transformed into this tasty chapathi upma.

I had it with hot chocolate milk yum breakfast it was!

Chapathi upma recipe

Chapathi upma recipe with leftover chapathi or roti.

Ingredients

  • 3 nos chapathi

To temper:

  • 1/2 tsp mustard seeds
  • 1/2 tsp urad dal
  • few curry leaves
  • 1 no green chilli
  • 1 small carrot (grated)
  • 1/4 cup onion (finely chopped)

Instructions

  • Take leftover chapathis, tear them roughly like shown below.
  • Transfer to mixer jar and pulse it few times until you get a mixture like flakes.Transfer to a bowl and set aside.
  • Heat oil in a pan - add the items listed under 'to temper'Let it splutter.Add chopped onion.
  • Saute till it shrinks then add grated carrot saute till raw smell leaves,add required salt.
  • Saute for 2 mins then add chapathi flakes, toss it well.Serve hot!

    1. Take leftover chapathis, tear them roughly like shown below.

    2. Transfer to mixer jar and pulse it few times until you get a mixture like flakes.Transfer to a bowl and set aside.

    3. Heat oil in a pan – add the items listed under ‘to temper’Let it splutter.Add chopped onion.

    4. Saute till it shrinks then add grated carrot saute till raw smell leaves,add required salt.

    5. If you want to add eggs you can add it at this stage.Saute for 2 mins then add chapathi flakes, toss it well.Serve hot!

Serve for breakfast or dinner.
