Caramelised Roti Crisps

I happened to try this quick recipe long back and then on, I have been making it often for mittu as she loves it.You can fill your kids snack box with this or serve it for breakfast too. They will sure love as its approved by mittu I am very much confident about the recipe ๐Ÿ™‚ I have few of my friends and readers asking for kids recipes so I am planning to post more kid friendly recipes in future , so keep watching.

Recipe Category: Sweet | Recipe Cuisine: South Indian | Recipe Reference : Vegbowl

Method:

  1. Take 2 leftover phulkas / chapathi. Cut them into squares or tear thm into peices.Heat ghee in a pan adn toss the pieces till they are evenly coated with ghee.
How to make caramelised roti - Step1
  2. When the rotis start to turn crisp, add sugar and keep in low flame, stir once. Sugar will start to melt and caramelise in few minutes.Gently mix so that it coats evenly. Switch off and add cardamom powder.
How to caramelised roti - Step2

Serve warm with a cup of coffee…yum!

My Notes:

  • You can use the same recipe for leftover dosa or bread too.
  • They are crisp and yummy. But if you want them a bit on the softer side then just toss the rotis and sprinkle sugar and switch off.
